of the winner who is...

I had a load of fun going through everyone's ideas... and it was really hard to pick! I like that Jacqui's entry left it up to the card giver whether they want to be nice, or mean ("you know what kind of special.") Knowing Jacqui, she just meant it in the nice way.

A couple of the other ones that made me giggle were--- "I'm too sexy for your cat." , "TWSS", "I love you, smelly", "Can I touch your feet?", and of course many of them were super sweet. Thanks for playing! You are all my Valentines!

Make sure to check out my first Valentine offering at my Etsy shop, and be on the looks out for the candy heart cards soon!

I am giving away... a Valentine.

So as many of you know I am in love with love, and I am especially in love with Valentine's day.
In honor of this, I want to give one of you a letterpressed card made lovingly by my hands that you can give to someone you love.
Can't you just feel it?!? (The Love.)

Here's the catch- I want to give you that unique little pink number above, but I need something to print on the inside of that candy heart. So- to enter to win this little card, please post a comment to this blog post by Wednesday 1/27 with
•you name
•your email address, and most importantly
•what you think should go on this pink candy heart*.

Of course it can be sweet and smooshy (ex. "You Are So Sweet") or even wry or sarcastic ("You Smell Pretty Weird"). Please try to keep it down to a few short words- long entries may not fit!
Post as many suggestions as you want.

Remember- enter in the comments field by January 27 for a chance to win this card!

*Please note that I may use your suggestion on cards in the (so, there.) shop. I will choose my favourite entry, and send the card to you as soon as it is printed. The card will be 3.5 inches x 4.875 inches and come in a pink envelope. If you can't stand pink, let me know and I'll try to work out a different candy combo for you.

(Edited 1/21) Hey! I have good news! If your witticism is chosen- you will have the option of Pink or Purple for the valentine.

it's that time again.

Patrick made coffee in my favourite mug*, and I was reminded (not for the first time, due to the displays of all the groceries and department stores) that it's that time again.

Valentines! Which happens to be one of my favourite times of the year, because it means Alison Day is coming! (I know, I'm terribly self centered- but you minions should know that I am trying to correct this.)

So I started a two-part action.
(1) Design valentines cards- Which are consisting of two designs that I hand-carved from lino block. I haven't printed them yet, lets hope they turn out and don't look too folky.

(2) Looking for other fun valentines designs. This was amazingly un-fruitful. Besides this fun thing, this, adorable this, and some of the less creepy things on this blog, I was lacking in new inspiration.

Please please please send me some more to look at, people. I need to be fully immersed in the season, and spending all day in the seasonal area of Target is NOT an option. (They keep giving me weird looks.)

EDITED 12:44 - okay let's add... this
and of course Rachel's adorable pouch that reminds me of a simpler time...

Well, in total we played with 19 kitties and doggies- so it was an eventful trip.

And being back means-- new projects real soon!
I've got more than a couple ideas- including some repurposed paper and possibly some supplies you won't be able to live without.

Keep visiting to see the changes!

Happy New Year!
