I'm having Ideas

Okay... so as most of you know, I've decided to make some big changes in my career... and in honor of this I'm gonna break from the tradition I am trying to establish by talking at you for a second.

I'm excited about the upcoming changes, and I am constantly getting new ideas - this is great!
The not great part is the trepidation I have about making it on my own (career-wise, people. No relationship problems here) and the fact that I really have to wait out three more weeks here, then two in Scotland, before I can get started. Though I have a lot of motivation and excitement I have about things right now, I am worried that it will fade.

worry worry.

worry.

My feelings are decidedly mixed on this subject.

I'm sure there will be more to come from me.

of the Brambly Book Wood

Sorry I haven't posted in a little while - I have a couple of projects going, and my mom's coming to visit (yay!) I'll show you what I've got going on soon... meanwhile...

I wanted to point y'all to these fantastic illustrations that Cari introduced me to, from the Bookwood. I especially love the The little girl with a curl's Horrid Alphabet series. (Because I am that girl.)

Spend some time on Celia's website here and blog here.

of this video

I think I've decided to do a bit more "sharing" on here. I have kept it down, but lately some things have been taking my breath away.

of people who are making something of themselves.

I came across these awesome tea-towels on Design•Sponge today, and realized they are the work of one of my old coworkers. All of their stuff is totally great, you should take a look.Slide Sideways on Etsy

Not to be outdone is my dear Rachel who is already making a splash with her bags and accessories.
This is my favourite, so far. I hope one is coming my way when she gets settled in.

i am NOT afraid

I am not afraid of you, spiders.

I know you have a soft underbelly.

and I know...

that you can be beaten!

This is a little theraputic project I just finished. I am afraid of spiders, but they sure do LOVE me. Ask anyone around me, they flock to me, jump at me, and land on me in bed at night.
Something about breaking them down into plush-parts made them less scary. I am not cured, of course, but I think I will look a little closer while I scream.

Let me know if you want to know more about the project, otherwise, just try not to be too scared.
**btw - the buttons are a gift from Cari, cause she's great. Thanks for the spider eyes.

you hairy tree

Hiking weather has begun again, and this means I get to spend time oggling the bizarre sights of the Pacific Northwest.

Where I come from, trees do not grow hair

They do not need a barber.

They do not try to look like a polar bear.

Not even green polar bear.

I would like to say, even though these trees freak the bejeezus out of me, I would like to hug each of them. I would also like an awesome moss wall of my very own,
or at least some moss graffiti.

because, you see, I can change my wardrobe

It might be hot outside, I can't tell.
The black cat is seeking shelter from the sun. Too bad she can't change into a tanktop.

(I would like to point out that we have a furnished basement that is about 20 degrees cooler, but this will not do. I think she's a cabana cat.)
